An algorithm for hierarchical and layered analysis of irregular façades, seeking a high-level understanding of façade structures. The analysis results in a structural representation, which can be utilized for structural editing and exploration of building façades.

This paper introduces a framework for generating many variations of a given façade design. Starting from an input layout, the user can model constraints that should be maintained (for example, alignment). Subsequently, façade variations are generated using an interleaved discrete and continuous optimization approach.

Exploring possible good layouts remains a central problem in computational design. Starting from a set of initial layouts, this paper analytically characterizes the local shape spaces of good layouts around each layout, compactly encodes these spaces, and links them to support transitions across the different local spaces of good building layouts.

This Sketch2Scene technique automatically converts a freehand 2D sketch drawing to semantically valid, well-arranged 3D scenes. It performs co-retrieval and co-placement of models by jointly processing input-sketched objects, enabled by a compact summarization of functional and spatial relationships among models in a collection of 3D scenes.

This paper presents a reconstruction and modeling pipeline to create building models from 3D point clouds. The tight coupling between user interaction and automatic optimization enables generation of complex models in a few minutes. The generated models are particularly suitable for interactive 3D applications like games, virtual environments, etc.
