Exhibitors who have special problems that require additional time must check at the Exhibition Management office on the previous day.

Alcoholic Beverages

The use of alcoholic beverages during the exhibition is prohibited.

The exhibitor understands that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that its display be accessible to persons with disabilities and agrees that it is solely responsible for assuring that its display complies with the ADA.

Booth Representations

Exhibitors' booth representatives shall be restricted to employees of the exhibiting company who are actually working in the exhibitor's booth. Booth representatives shall wear "Exhibitor" badge identification at all times. Hall-Erickson may limit the number of booth representatives at any time. All exhibitors' company personnel other than those working in the booth are to register as attendees.

Booth Staffing

Exhibitors’ booths must be staffed during all open show hours. Exhibitors will not be permitted to dismantle or to begin dismantle prior to the close of the show on Thursday, 25 July at 3:30 pm. If Exhibitors violate this regulation, they may lose priority points for future booth assignments or may be denied exhibit space in future SIGGRAPH Exhibitions.

Damage to Property

Exhibitor is liable for any damage caused to building floors, walls, columns, standard booth equipment, or to other exhibitors' property. Exhibitor may not apply paint, lacquer, adhesive, or other coating to building columns and floors or to standard booth equipment. Holes may not be drilled, cored, or punched in the building.

Hall-Erickson shall have full discretion and authority in the placing, arrangement, and appearance of all items displayed by exhibitor, and may require the replacing, rearrangement, or redecorating of any item or of any booth which Hall-Erickson deems inconsistent with the Principal Purpose of the Exhibition or inappropriate for any other reason, and no liability shall attach to ACM or Hall-Erickson for costs that may result upon Exhibitor. Exhibitors building special background or side dividers must make certain that the surfaces of such dividers are finished in such a manner as not to be unsightly to exhibitors in adjoining booths. If such surfaces remain unfinished at 8 am on opening day of the Exhibition, Hall-Erickson shall authorize the official decorator to effect the necessary finishing and Exhibitor must pay all charges involved. Signs, banners, etc. may not be taped, nailed, tacked, stapled, or otherwise fastened to ceilings, walls, doors, painted surfaces, or columns.

All demonstration equipment, including operator's position, must be located at least two feet removed from the aisle line of the exhibit area.

Discussions, Costumes, Promotions

Exhibitor shall not engage in any activities in the aisles or in other booths. Exhibitor's representatives wearing distinctive costumes, or carrying banners, or signs separately or as part of their apparel must remain in their own booths. The SIGGRAPH Conference puts forth the following exhibition dress guidelines: SIGGRAPH has no objection to the use of models or demonstrators in exhibitors' booths, provided they are properly clothed and dressed in good taste at all times. Nudity in an exhibitor booth will be handled on a case-by-case basis. More specifically:

  • Model dress must include nothing lewd or objectionable.
  • Models must stay in the booths and be fully covered when leaving the booth.
  • Models may wear commercially acceptable bathing suits.
  • Regarding nudity: Nudity must not be gratuitous and must be proven necessary to demonstrate associated technology. Models may not be fully nude, rather should be covered on the bottom. Body paint is acceptable.

Any variance from the above guidelines will be at the discretion of the Conference Chair, in consultation with the exhibition management contractor and Conference Advisory Group. Questions can be addressed to Exhibition Management.

Exhibitors shall be liable for all storage and handling charges resulting from failure to remove exhibit material from the Exhibition before conclusion of the dismantling period. No displays may be dismantled prior to 3:30 pm on Thursday.

No flammable fluids or materials of any nature, including decorative materials, use of which is prohibited by national, state, or city fire regulations, may be used in any booth.

Obstruction of Aisles or Booths

Any demonstration or activity that results in obstruction of aisles or prevents ready access to nearby exhibitors' booths shall be suspended for any periods specified by Hall-Erickson. Presentations are to be product-specific and must have adequate seating for assembled groups. Presenter must be located a minimum of 10 feet from the aisle.

Prohibited Material

Balloons, lights, lasers, horns, musical instruments, projected light outside booths, use of other mechanical devices that create objectionable noises, odors, congestion, or any material deemed by Exhibition Management to be a negative distraction are prohibited. Also, posting signs anywhere other than within the confines of exhibitors' booths is prohibited.

Rejected Displays

Exhibitor agrees that their exhibit shall be admitted and shall remain from day to day solely in strict compliance with the rules. Hall-Erickson reserves the right to reject, eject, or prohibit any exhibit in whole or in part, or exhibitor or their representatives, from the exhibition. If cause is not given, liability shall not exceed the return to exhibitor of the amount of rental unearned at the time of ejection. If an exhibit or exhibitor is ejected for violation of these rules or for other stated reasons, no return shall be made.

Exhibitor agrees to abide by the rules, guidelines, and regulations included in the Exhibitor Manual, and by any amendments that may be put into effect by ACM and Hall-Erickson.

Safety Devices

Exhibitor agrees to accept full responsibility for compliance with national, state, and city regulations in the provision and maintenance of adequate safety devices and conditions for the operation of machinery and equipment.

Sound Regulations

Any sound that exceeds 85 decibels measured at the edge of an exhibitor's booth is considered objectionable and will not be allowed. Sound and sound systems may not face the aisles and must be directed exclusively into an exhibitor's booth. Exhibition Management reserves the right to re-position speakers. If an exhibitor fails to reduce the sound levels, or later turns the volume up, Exhibition Management will subtract priority points, based on the severity of the infraction. If further infractions occur, exhibitors may lose up to 100% of their remaining priority points, have the electricity to their booth cut-off for whatever period is deemed appropriate, and/or will not be allowed to exhibit in future SIGGRAPH exhibitions for violating the rules agreed to in the contract terms.

Exhibitor may not sublet booth space, nor any part thereof, nor exhibit, offer for sale, give as a premium, or advertise articles not manufactured or sold in their own name, except where such products and services are required for the proper demonstration or operation of exhibitor's display.

Unoccupied Booth Space

SIGGRAPH 2013 reserves the right to use any exhibit space still unoccupied at 8 am on Tuesday, opening day, for whatever reason it chooses.
